Due to the growth of the contagious “Delta” COVID-19 variant, and pursuant to an Executive Order from Governor Lamont, Mayor Elicker has announced that, starting Monday, August 9, the City will mandate that people wear masks while in indoor public spaces in New Haven, such as shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and public buildings, regardless of their vaccination status.

The City’s Health Department also strongly recommends that city businesses post signage inside their establishment regarding mask use and social distancing, and provide hand sanitizer. For details, please visit Governor Lamont's Executive Order No. 12.
