Strong Cohen Graphic Design

Tom Strong and Marjorie Cohen founded the firm in New Haven in 1968, and Marjorie's daughter Daniela Gordon is a partner in it now. The work is graphic design pointed at buildings: architectural and wayfinding signage, evacuation maps, donor recognition, ADA and code required signs, and custom interior and exterior signage, largely for colleges and universities. In 1990 Yale's Office of the Secretary hired them to set the university's interior signage standard, down to the typefaces and colors, and they have applied it to more than seventy-five new or renovated Yale buildings since. Fifty-eight years of it, from a storefront on Chapel Street.
