Falafel, shawarma, hummus, grape leaves and kebobs, made from scratch with imported spices and served fast casual. All the meat is certified halal, and the vegan and gluten-free options go well beyond the usual single token dish. Mamoun's is a small family-run chain with roots in Greenwich Village, and the New Haven shop trades on the same thing the original did: a short menu, done properly, at a price that works when you are eating out more than once a week.
