Est Pizza

A small, brick-walled pizzeria that has been at the same New Haven address since 1973. The menu is pizza first, with calzones, baked ziti, subs and salads behind it, and the room seats about as many people as you would expect from somewhere that has not needed to expand in fifty years. They also run a wood-fired brick oven built into a retrofitted 1989 fire rescue truck, which turns up at events across Connecticut. Worth asking about if you are planning one.
